Thanks Dale.  When I think about it you're most likely correct.  Since the
coolant is being pushed out the intake into the upper rad hose, it make
senses that the coolant would go the same direction into the upper heater
hose, and if the lower rad hose is supplying the w/p with coolant and the
lower heater hose is attached just above the rad hose, once again it only
makes sense that the lower heater hose is the return line to the pump.

When my upper heater hose blew off and the coolant was flowing out of it,
maybe it was just the pressure?  I didn't run the engine too long for
obvious reasons so that incident wasn't conclusive to the direction of water
flow.

BTW, any bites on the Pumpkin?

The 'pressure' water line runs from the intake to the heater box (5/8" hose)
and the return line (3/4" hose) runs to the water pump.
