Hi Tom I have replaced my 10-bolt open with a
12-bolt Posi. Got hold of a 3.73 on swap meet, paid
650, rebuilding cost me 250 plus a new eaton
posi 500 and some tax. Total I think was about 1450
including everything except new brakes. The drums was
ok, and they are looking great powder coated. The alternative to get a new might be a
little bit more expensive, but on the other hand, you know everything is new
and you have some kind of warranty. If I could turn the clock back, I would buy
a new, where I could decide what gear and other parts to put in. Just my 2 cent Hans -----Ursprungligt
meddelande----- I have
to replace the 10 bolt that is on my 67 SS (it has a SS VIN #, seems like
that's another story) and am wondering which way to go? A 12 bolt off another SS
or one of the aftermarket rear ends? It's too late for an all original as it
has a 68 396/350 horse motor in it. Just want a nice driver. If I do end up
with an aftermarket, any suggestions on that as well? Moser, Currie?? Thanks
for any help. tom
