Sounds like you assumed you were on the compression stroke rather than the exhaust stroke. A perfect way to end up 180 degrees out.   FYI you can also try rotating the wires on the distributor cap 180 degrees. It’s a faster and easier way to find out if that is the problem than pulling the distributor.   John Nasta       -----Original Message-----   When I pulled the old distributor the engine was right on TDC (just happened to be so)
