IMO
Barrett Jackson and the other auctions are driving the prices of our beloved
Chevelles out of the reach of a lot of beginners like me who don't have the
dough to drop $40,000 for a decent 67 convertible. We are insuring a lot more 4
door cars and odd stuff like Imperials, and look at what the early 60s Rivieras
are doing. A lot of folks can't afford to buy a restored SS or buy a junker
and restore it so they are looking for other things. We have 4 early 50s Chevys
in our local club now. Four years ago they were all sitting in a barn or
junkyard cause nobody wanted them. So those high prices are saving a bunch of
cars that wouldn't have been otherwise.
