I don’t think 1968 ever had the vent balls in the dash to begin with and the 1969 type are not being reproduced. It is possible that the 1966-67 bezels can be made to work, but you’d have to so a lot of cutting (including cutting the metal part of the dash) if the holes are not already there. I don’t know what the vent configuration of your car is, but if you don’t have any vents located on the sides of your dash at all, then you either have a lot of work to do to fabricate something, or you will have to settle for just having the hoses pointing down from behind the dash.

I don’t really know what a 1968 A/C dash (or your particular dash for that matter) looks like, but if it has any vents at all on the sides you would be able to hook up to those. I am guessing that the reason people are saying it won't fit 1968 is because there are no vent locations on the sides at all.

John,

It sounds like you are JUST the man I need to talk to.  Ok, I follow you in that the 68 ball vent bezels were NOT chrome, as the 66-67 ones were.  That doesn't concern me too much, as I could disassemble them and paint the outer bezels.  Even if the dash side didn't have the correct texture, it would be close enough if it were painted dash color.  I have to restore my 68 dash anyway, so it will be getting new paint.  Do you think the contour of these chrome units would be close enough (even if modified a bit) to fit a 68 dash, and or passenger side next to the glove box?  What is you opinion of this?  Thanks once again!
