Be sure to lubricate your bolts, not only the threads, but any where metal will touch metal, ie. under the bolt head. This will increase your bolt load with the same torque value.

The 454 didn't appear until 1970.

 

 I would say you should go with the 105 torque number.

 I have IV Generation 454ci with a 2 bolt main. I'm going to pull the main caps to check the bearings. the chiltons says to torque them to 105ft.lbs  then it has a foot note that if its a 1966-67 4 bolt its 115ftlbs, 1966-68  , 2 bolt-95 ftlbs. I am not sure what year the motor is, would it be safe to assume my motors main caps should be torqued to 105 ft lbs ? Jimmy C.
