I think if you look again, it's the number "1". The letter "I" was used
to represent the number "1" on pre 69 engine build date stampings but
beginning in 1969 the number "1" was beginning to be used; like these
http://chevellestuff.net/1969/engines/index.htm.

A suffix code of "IHA" makes no sense and neither would a data of T052 -
not enough numbers to make a mm/dd code. Dealers would not have
installed a warranty engine with a date coded and suffix stamped engine.
The warranty was only 2 years or 24000 miles for 1966 Chevelles.

Sounds more like someone stamped a 1969 engine suffix code (or tried to)
on the engine block but without a photo... If you have a photo of the
engine pad, could email it to me off list at [email protected]?

Dale, The last 3 letters are IHA not 1. Thats where im getting messed
up, the block casting 3858180 indicates a 327 and the intake is what you
said. When i looked the heads up it said 283 and 327 and the crank is a
327 crank. The owner had a 283 he was having problems with. So after
while the dealer installed a new engine. Thats the story i got.

Thanks Alex

HA is a suffix code for a 1969 350/300 manual transmission engine, 0521
indicates May 21 (
http://chevellestuff.net/qd/engine/sb03_codes_d_hz.htm) but 3858180 is a
65-66 block is the intake (66 327/275 w/A.I.R. cast iron with Rochester.
Heads show to be 64-65 283 and crank as 62-65 327.

Looks like a hodgepodge of small-block parts. A "replacement" motor? I
guess if one considers a pieced together engine a replacement, then it
would be.

Engine numbers T052IHA, 3858180
Intake 3875954
Heads 3795896
Crank 2680
Guys the only number i cant figure out is the T052IHA, i think from the
story i got its a replacement motor.
I brought it home saturday. Thanks guys for your help.

Alex

That motor came with a carter 4027s, there is one on ebay right now from
a 66. I can't find any info on the CFM. The Holley that came on the L79
350HP was 585 so I'm sure it wouldn't be any more than that. I found a
discussion thread where a guy flow tested them and said they were 582
but take that for what it is worth.
