Yes, it was very hard. We had thought about having someone just take them while we are away, but we'll be here for 3 years. So that was kinda out of the question, especially for an African Grey. She wouldn't have remembered us by the time we get back. We knew we would be in an apartment (and Germany does not do airconditioners) so that made our decision alittle easier too. Our pug just wouldn't have made it with no airconditioner and 3 flights of stairs. And I really don't have time to run our boxer everyday. :( But, everyone got great homes. All to people I know, so I can check up on them. ;) ~Lacey

I have 11 birds but nothing as big as a African Grey. I would love to have a Grey or a Macaw someday but right now can't aford it. It would have been nice if you could have gotten someone to keep them for you until you got back. You can only take two with you. I would sure have a big problem. I have 5 cats,11 birds, 8 dogs,1 gerbil, 1 guinea pig,1 rabbit, 1 rooster, 1 turtle and a fish tank. I told you I had a lot. LOL I don't know what I would do or how in the world I could possibly only keep two. I'm sure that was a hard decision for your family to make. > > Clara > > laceyduthu <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I think FiFi would want to use her box as a bed..lol.
