You are luck you were able to find homes with people you know. I have wondered often what would happen to my pets if anything were to happen to me. It is hard enough trying to find someone who would take my kids!! lol, let alone someone who would take and love my pets. I have decided I just can't afford to die right now. :-) Marsha Yes, it was very hard. We had thought about having someone just take them while we are away, but we'll be here for 3 years. So that was kinda out of the question, especially for an African Grey. She wouldn't have remembered us by the time we get back. We knew we would be in an apartment (and Germany does not do airconditioners) so that made our decision alittle easier too. Our pug just wouldn't have made it with no airconditioner and 3 flights of stairs. And I really don't have time to run our boxer everyday. :( But, everyone got great homes.
