Cindy, The colors are beautiful. Try to get a face picture if you can. Can he see? Does he bump into things? Does he feel with with feet? Does he act different in any way from the other pups? I ask because my minx cat's heart stopped for way to long when he was neutered. I got back a empty shell. Less alive then a newborn kitten. I had to work to get him to even suckle a dropper, he couldn't walk, could not control bladder or bowels and could not see. His pupils were always dilated. To make a long story short, it took a very long time but we finally figured out he was not blind, he just could not see. kind of like his brain could not figure out what he saw, slowly over many months either the brain healed it's self or he adjusted to how he sees. He is not quite a normal cat today, but he sure is one we love and enjoy. And yes by the time he was about 2 years old we were figuring out that he could see. I suspect you may be right about the oxygen and I'm suggesting that even if he can't see, he will adjust and live a happy full life in the right enviroment. I had a 3 1/4 lb pomerian that went blind before I got him, He was fine as long as I put a low barrier across the door where ever I had a step that went down. and of course you can't move furniture on them. Please do keep us informed when you see the eye doctor. Oh and a regular human eye doctor can also look into his eyes and tell you if they are normal or not. He won't be able to tell you what a animal specialists can but the make up of the eye and eye socket is the same. Cataracts in dogs take many months or years to develop just as they do in humans, so if he was born that way I don't think it's cataracts. Next time you breed his mother, cut down on the breeding times. no more then 3 (9 - 11 - 14) or (10 - 12 - 15). If she welped 7 pups from 3 breedings then cut down to 2 (10 & 12) or (12 & 14). I'm suggesting this as it's very probable that the damage was done before the welping with that many pups in there. Have you bred the same male to other female's and gotten large litters, Maybe he's over productive... LOL But do let us know. Thanks Kay Cindy Andrilli wrote: I am not sure.. When he was born it was hard to get him to breath. The vet had to really work on him. He is from a litter of 7 and Mamma was like a football so I took her in to the vet. He calcium was low so 600.00 later I had 7 babies.. She needed a calcium shot... Anyway, she delivered with a couple of vets and myself and some vet techs all helping. But everybody is okay.. We have one eye doc up here but I think he needs to go to a specialist outside in the states.. I have a friend who is married to a vet but I can't stand the thought of putting him on a plane to Calif.. by himself. He would cry for me all the way.. So I will be taking him into Doc. Gorder soon and see what they can do. I don't think it is cateracts.. I think it was the lack of oxegen..Cindy " Lets talk about our wonderful little friends! Join today! "
