I think you are right. Fifi is my first chi too. I've had pugs though and they stopped growing pretty early. I had Fifi spayed at 9 months and she was already 4 lbs. then (same as she is now at almost 2). A lot of vets recommend putting small dogs on adult dog food anywhere from 6 months to a year b/c they stop growing so early and don't need the extra calories anymore. ~Lacey
