I had a man-hating German Shepherd when I was a teen. She was a stray that followed me home. She must have been abused by a man, because when ever a man came near her she went ballistic! The only man she tolerated was my Dad. My youngest Chi was shy around women. When we first brought her home she cowered when I handled her. But she got over it, and now is my devoted companion. She never leaves my side.   The advice about body language is correct. When you're dealing with a strange dog, always assume a submissive posture. Keep hands and your side, speak softly and never smile. The dog thinks you're showing your teeth. I've been breeding and raising dogs since I was 14. This technique always works.   Gloria   "Oh, no!
