MY God are you people misinformed. You're also close-minded on this raw issue. ALL meat contains bacteria and living microbes! Chicken is rife with salmonila (and now the Bird Flu is becoming a real threat - oh, and let's not forget the Mad Cow virus). My husband works in a hospital as a dietary specialist. All employees MUST wear gloves when handling food, and all surfaces that have been used to prepare raw meat is afterward washed with bleach. Salmonila is NOT everywhere!!! It requires a protien-based medium to thrive (meat is pure protein). My family vet has a Master Of Science Degree as well as his degree in veterinary medicine. He has been practicing for thirty years! He says that all meats fed to animals MUST be cooked. Feed raw and you're asking for a dead pet. I'll take my vet's word over that of some fanatical, misinformed people any day of the week.
