Yeah, I don't know of dog parks in my state either.  Just a fence does make sense.  With this story, what was strange to me was the attacking "big dog".The attacking dog was described as a Brittany or a golden retriever mix. The dog's owner could not be
reached.  Aren't either of those breeds generally gentle dogs? (I don't know lots about brittanys)  I think it may have even been Chris, who was walking Bear one time and some bigger dog almost attacked Bear but he was quick enough to snatch Bear up. As the story went, the bigger dog did end up getting banned from the park.
