Chiclet suffers terribly from dry, itchy skin in wintertime. There are many
possible causes, one being a sensitivity to something in a dog's food,
especially wheat or corn. You might want to try switching your dog to a dog
food that doesn't contain either. I can't change Chiclet's food because
she's on a prescription diet.
You might also try adding Omega-3 fatty acids to your chi's diet to combat
dry skin. I use DermCaps liquid; a few drops once a day is plenty for a
little chi. Many pet stores carry skin supplements. I get my DermCaps from
www.entirelypets.com. It makes a huge difference to Chiclet.
