There is a medicine at wal-mart that is intended for hotspots. This medicine works great on almost all types of minor skin irritations like this. The med is sticky and smells horrible, but well worth how well it works. Clears up most skin probs in a day or two. However, it may be all the flea soaps, baths, ect that is causing the prob, Maybe try just a little baby oil in the area to cure dry skin and NOT bathe so much.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] raw spots

After hearing about Mae's baby my question seems so trivial 8(.......
I have tired different flea soaps both commercial brands from the vet
and some herbal soaps.....I don't see fleas, Olafs skin doesnt look
to be dry etc tired different thing to help with itch but he is still
going crazy biting and chewing just above the tail and at the joints
of the front legs..........Any body come up with a solution to stop
the chewing long enough to heal etc.......He went to the vets and he
wasn't concerned grrrrrrrrrrr but the scab is getting bigger and bigger.....
