I thought I had hit the jackpot when I got my 7 wk old Chi, Nina. I had her going to potty in a litter box with wee wee pads...both tee teeing and poo pooing... by the time she was 9 wks old all by herself. Then a couple of days ago she started poo pooing on the carpet next to the wall behind an end table. She still goes to tee tee in the litter pan, and I give her a treat anytime she does so. I did this when she was poo pooing in the pan, too. I decided to set a litter pan with wee wee pad where she had been going on the carpet to see if she'd go in it, and the little snot poo pooed beside it! I'm starting to think like some of the rest of you....it's an attention getter. Like Nina needs any more attention. She already spends 90% of her day time hours in someone's lap...lol I had read somewhere that scolding Chis doesn't really help, and to make sure when they do the right thing to highly praise them. Do any of you have any input on that? Since Nina is just going on ten weeks old, I want to train her the best way possible, and I don't want to do anything that would be detrimental to her mentally. OMG.....you'd think I was dealing with a child the way I'm talking....lol Oh well, my husband referred to her as a rotten puppy earlier today, and I told him real quick she was a baby.....lol
