They do. Mine is 9 weeks and he goes outside in the daytime. At night he will use the pads if he has to. He does not run the house when we are home. Of course he does not leave my side either LOL. I am lucky enough that between my hub and I there is always someone here. If not then he is penned. A schedule is of utmost importance
