First they are both still so young. Everything is so new to them. Apparently the girl and the boy have different natures. Give them time, they need time to adjust to a new environment. Sudden movements startle them. When we first got Bogie he would run and growl at everything unfamiliar. The reason the chi's were so playful and happy with the other pups was because that was their home. Try to think what you would feel like if you were just suddenly removed from your home and sent to live with strangers. Bet you would be growling too LOL And IMO 7 weeks was just too early for them to leave. But that is me and others feel differently. One pound in a week is not too much. A lot of people on here free feed, chi's need food to keep from getting hypolgemic (sp) Sheila
_____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Lisa Sent: Sunday, March 04, 2007 6:32 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Chihuahuas] New puppy being aggressive My niece and I just bought chihuahua puppies. They are 7 weeks old today. We bought them a week ago. I bought a little boy, we named Bailey. And she got a girl, and named her Misty. Her puppy(Misty) is being very aggresive toward eveyone in the family. She growls and try's to bite whenever she is touched or picked up. My puppy will growl a little, but not as much as Misty. And now she is trying to bite. Is this normal for a Chihuahua to be this aggressive? Will she continue to be like this? She was the most out going a playful puppy in the litter. They have small kids in the family and are considering finding her a new home or seeing if the breeder will take back the puppy. Misty has also gained a pound in one week. She is much bigger than her brother and they were the same size when we bought them. Is that to much of a gain for a Chihuahua? She is almost 3 pounds. I think they may be feeding her to much. They went through a half of a 14 oz. can of 2nd step esbilac puppy weaning formula, the dry stuff, in one week. They were mixing that in with her puppy chow and water. Way to much. Thanks in Advance, Lisa
