At the rescue I volunteer with, we hold adoptions every Sat. at PetsMart. We
have information sheets about the dogs on each crate, and then we're available
to answer questions. Because we are all foster homes, we can give a little
more info about what the dog is like to live with.
On the sheets, it will have the dog's name and the breed like, "lab/mix" or
"Jack Russell/Mix" or something like that. I can't tell you how many times
people have asked me, "Well, what's he mixed with?"
Depending on my mood, I might say, "If we knew, it's be on there." or
"About 100 different other breeds."
One of the cats for adoption is a HUGE 22 lb cat, and today someone asked our
director what kind of cat he was.
She just looked at them and said,"A Fat Cat."
Poor people didn't seem to have a sense of humor about the answer.
