When I took my 18yr old cat in cuz she started peeing outside the box.. The
vet just took a strip and squeezed up against her ureter.. Prolly could do
that with a female chi too. I would call the vet and ask.

It wasn't that easy! haha! He is so small and he pees like a girl, so
I took a plastic cup and cut it down to about an inch deep. It was easier
to stick under his legs! Let your little one smell it before you try to use
it though, otherwise they will stop in midstream to "check it out"!! Also
you really don't need a whole lot for the test! Good luck!

P.S. Whatever you do, don't squeeze out a weewee pad, it transfers chemicals
that are not in the urine!

I literally followed my boy around with a cup! I went for a walk with
him and when he stopped at his favorite spots I "caught it". For days
afterwards, he wait for the cup!!! Haha! He is too funny!
