Elizabeth - you're right...There is something God is doing behind the scenes.
Sometimes I have to step back and take a good look, and hearing it from you
validates
how we are not in control of our lives.

We are surely being tested though -

There is always someone who has to stay with
the body before laid to rest. My hubby Jim was there with another officer 10pm
to 6am.
Jim said, it was quiet, dog tired... he fell asleep thinking he would at least
get a few hours.
Our next door neighbor boy, Nick was pounding on the door this morning saying
his dad's car
needs a jump!!
Jim said, he had to peel himself off the pillow - go and give Scott a jump so
Nick can be
taken to school.
WE prayed before he just left to escort the body to another mortuary, next town.

We are being tested right now..I can feel it. Gosh If I didn't have the
Lord...I don't think I would be typing this long
email to you! LOL
Have a blessed day!! Gloria C The God of all grace will himself restore youand
make you strong, firm and steadfast!1 Peter 5:10

I was so upset for Gabby when I heard about her new school, but........now I'm
thinking that maybe she "was brought" to that new teacher because she would be
the one to center her with all that's going on! God puts you where you're
supposed to be! You're still in my thoughts and prayers!Elizabeth--- On Mon,

Thank you Claudia! Yea, I am so sorry for Gabby - I think it's politics in
some schools to behonest with you. But whatever, the law is what it is. We
went to her new school just got back, and met the teacher. It was a very
positive experience. The teacher is totally cool - Thank you Lord! For getting
me thru! (crying) Gabby was OK with it!Love and Hugs back to you!!

Diana, Thank you for sharing...Your dad Chief? Where? It's sad, but how
ironicto have this at the same time as your town.Thank for your support and
comfort. God is with me! I can feel him, and I am strengthennow, than this
morning. There will be a grief counseling for all the families of the officers
tomorrow at the City Council.I sure need it.Now we know the funeral is going to
be on Thursday 10am at the Pavilion that holds concert there. It's tough, but
God is bigger than all of this - I leave it in his hands! Hugs,

Gloria,

I also am in a police family. My Father is Chief of Police. I know what it
feels like. I wish I could be there with you.

When I first read this I did not know where you were writing from. The same
thing happened in our town at this same time. An officer went to a domestic
violence call and was shot.
There are expected to be 6,000 at the services.

I cannot even imagine all the things that that little Gabby is going thru (for
a child her age).
What in the heck is wrong with that school to transfer her now. AND AT THAT AGE.

Gloria, I know that there are not words strong enough to comfort you.
You are in my thoughts and prayers, as you have been, but moreso.
God does not give us more than we can handle. You are really being tested
aren't you? Just remember "God is there for you and your family".
Many hugs, Love and Prayers, Diana

Hi, Gloria! I wish I were closer so I could help you in any way! My Dad was a
motor cop for 39 years, he is 91! God bless you all! Believe me, when I say I
have thought of nothing but you and your family all day! Elizabeth--- On Mon,

Hey Elizabeth - so you know. Right now all of our heads are in a cloud.Jim, my
hubby rides motors, and he has to escort the body from the morgueto the funeral
home in a few hours - (didn't know this) there is always someone withthe body
24 hours until Paul is laid to rest. Jim has his shift from 10pm to 6am
tonight. It's tough to have a family member there - I can't imagine what is
going thru Jim's mind.We have prayed together several times, and I need to talk
about it. Now this morning - Gabby's school called and said she is a inter
district transfer and needs togo to her home school! Well...she hasn't gone to
her "home" school at all.this is devistating - she is just making sense of her
Uncle passing, and two dogs - now this!I totally feel badly for her. I am
praying if she can stay at the Valhalla school she has always been. Please
continue to pray for strength to get thru these issues at hand! Love and Hugs,
Gloria C

Oh my God, Gloria, I don't even know what to say to you! I read that entire
story yesterday because of the officer. You see, I was already praying for you
and the rest of his family. I come from a police family! All of my relatives
are cops! I know what it is like to send them off at the start of their
shifts. Please know that all of you, including the other officers in the
department are in my thoughts and prayers! Elizabeth--- On Sun, 9/7/08, G

So true Mare! Life is ...sometimes we don't understand why people or pets have
gone suddenly. My cousin who is a Martinez Police Officer was killed today
during a domestic dispute. We havebeen crying all day - My husband who works
with him is being kept at the PD, and the surroundingtowns/cities have taken
over the streets...It's a blessing for all of the different police agencies
from all over have brought food, their condolences, flowers, etc...they are
suppose to do a debreifing/counseli ng for all the officers who actually had
contact withthe creep. Thought I would share..it's still hurts. At least he is
in a better place!

Life Is a Gift

Today before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has
nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying
out to GOD for a companion.

Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to
heaven.

Before whining about the distance you drive Think of someone who walks the same
distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed,
the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face
and think: you're alive and still around.
