Elizabeth - you're right...There is something God is doing behind the scenes. Sometimes I have to step back and take a good look, and hearing it from you validates how we are not in control of our lives. We are surely being tested though - There is always someone who has to stay with the body before laid to rest. My hubby Jim was there with another officer 10pm to 6am. Jim said, it was quiet, dog tired... he fell asleep thinking he would at least get a few hours. Our next door neighbor boy, Nick was pounding on the door this morning saying his dad's car needs a jump!! Jim said, he had to peel himself off the pillow - go and give Scott a jump so Nick can be taken to school. WE prayed before he just left to escort the body to another mortuary, next town. We are being tested right now..I can feel it. Gosh If I didn't have the Lord...I don't think I would be typing this long email to you! LOL Have a blessed day!! Gloria, I also am in a police family. My Father is Chief of Police. I know what it feels like. I wish I could be there with you. When I first read this I did not know where you were writing from. The same thing happened in our town at this same time. An officer went to a domestic violence call and was shot. There are expected to be 6,000 at the services. I cannot even imagine all the things that that little Gabby is going thru (for a child her age). What in the heck is wrong with that school to transfer her now. AND AT THAT AGE.
