Thank you Sharon~~Sox had an attack on Sat night~~~His brother and mother both
have this. The breeder....the people who own the mother dog...said to give them
honey...or sugar...I was at my parents when "Bear"...who is Sox's brother had
an attack...my mom gave him a little sugar and he snapped right out of it. Sat
is the first time it happened to Sox...I was so scared...I was painting all day
and I was afraid it was because of the paint. I picked him up and went to my
parents...we live in a 4 plex...and you can go from our living room to my
parents dining room. Sox was weak...and he was just staring...I thought he was
gonna die...I am NOT a good person in an emergency. My mom gave
him some honey and after a few minutes he was ok...later he was back to
normal....he chased the cats the rest of the night...and by the rest of the
night...I mean clear up till about 5 am...Ha-Ha...I swear he watches for a tail
to go by the bed...he sleeps with us...as soon as he sees a cat he's gone! Then
he wanted to go outside about 2am...so I think maybe it was just his sugar. As
little as "katie" is I'd be scared too...Sox isn't very big...his brother and
mother are both smaller then him...he did weigh under 5 pounds...but is
becoming quite a porker...Ha-ha...he's been fine since then~~~Thank God~~~I
would go crazy if anything happened to him...I lost my cat that I was very
bonded to a year and a half ago...I was so sick over her loss...laterally...I
still cry over her and miss her very much....Thanks for the info on the
hypoglycemia...by the way...I have it too...when it happens to me I get very
weak...sweat a lot...and shake really bad...my son was picking on me because me
and Sox both have it...I have Nutri -Cal....well...I think I do...I might have
given it to my sister...she had a sick pug...and he wasn't eating well...he's
since passed away...he was an old guy...Thanks again~~~Sharon

If a dog is having a hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) attack, he/she will be
very tired, lying around, no energy, droopy. In extreme cases, he/she won't be
able to stand up. Katie did this 2 days after I got her - VERY scary!! At
this point, it's time to pray. The treatment I use is Nutri-Cal. Actually, if
Katie does not eat well, I give her Nutri-Cal so she doesn't have an attack. I
ALWAYS have a fresh tube of it on hand.
