makes me wonder how this boy was fed at his breeders... we are raw feeding aND JUST TRYING TO LEAVE HIM SOME HAS BEEN VERY HARD CAUSE HE EATS IT AS SOON AS HE SEES IT! ... dang caps loc lol... and as far as not wanting to train the babies to a pee pad or litter cause you dont want to impose a style the new owner may not want isgoing to happen no matter what you do or dont do... by doing nothing you are teaching them its ok to go at will anywhere...i have raised pups for over 35 years ... and starting ANY kind of toilet training is better than none. imo. one of my favorite set ups was a 20' run outside with pea gravel 3 sided butted to the house with doggie door and 3 sided pen inside the house... the inside pen had a doggie door as well for visiting when we were home and the doggie door to the outside pen was 24/7 access to outside for potty. babies were trained to go out at will to potty by 8 weeks old... following mom. sure this was requiring a doggie door not all could install but having the pups aware not to potty where they live was a great start. thanks for including me ladies im up past my bed time ...see you all tomorrow. darcy ...

When I say my pups are in the x-pen, you gotta remember, my pups are ready for their new homes at 8 weeks old on average...some smaller ones I hold longer....but at 8 weeks they are not ready to be expected to do more than communal potty and gorge eating, lol. Yea, if they are still here come 4 months old, ect....then it is way beyond time to start housebreaking them and yes that delay can cause issues, but in my oppinion, not nearly as many issues as if, say I train them to a potty pad and the new owners expect them to go outside only. Or if I take them outside only and correct them if they go in the house and then the new owner expects them to learn to use a potty pad...this gets confusing because the pup has started to learn what it should do and then suddenly gets corrected for doing what it has been taught to do.....I just think it is better in the end, if they learn one form/method of housebreaking from the get go. As for feeding....I free feed anyhow, so all of my dogs learn early to eat when they are hungry and to not worry about over eating because it will still be there later.
