For some odd reason, it seems to be a rather common trait of chihuahuas to not be particularly fond of men in general. Never realy understood why, and ofcourse many men have a hreat relationship with a chi, but it is a story we hear all too often....I personally think it may have something to do with size/appearance...men probably look more threatning to a little chi.
It is also very common for a chi to attach itself to ONE person over all others. So if you find he is drawn to you and wants to "attack" anyone that comes near you while he is with you, you can rest assured it is a common chi personality....but ofcourse, it is something that for the most part can not be tolerated. They do have to learn they can not just attach people....common or not. There are all kidns of methods that will be offered up....having the boyfriend feed him treats, having the BF to be the one to feed/care for him, scolding/confining when he attacks, ect. Each can be good methods, but in the end, it will be trial and error...what worked great for one, may not work for another....you just have to find out what works well for you, but he does have to be taught that it is not acceptable. Now me, personally, in all honesty, assuming this BF is an adult, I would be saying, hey this is my house, my dog, you dont like it feel free to get your own place!
