Hi
I feel now that I have Ricky.. (my first chi ever) that Chi's are completely
different than other breeds. Of course I have not had all the breeds...LOL...
but Ricky is just to darn smart to be a dog! ok, ok, chi's and other tiny dogs
like poms etc, can be trained just like a cat. Indoors only. some cats are like
15-20lbs! in fact, I swear I saw and petted a cat at the 'SPCA about a month
ago that had to be at least 30-40lbs! This cat was HUGE... like a cocker
spaniel. He was the sweetest cat I have ever seen too... I could have taken him
home in a heart beat... but of course I want to take all the animals home in a
heart beat. LOL
I am planning to get one of those doggie potty boxes for Ricky to use on the
patio. We live upstairs and when the weather is too cold or I dont feel like
going down, he will be able to use the box without leaving a mess out there. I
have pee pads down now, but he always decides to pee elsewhere. LOL

Am I crazy - but chihuahau's are not made to be outdoors in fenced yards alone.
They are subject to many prey animals and they probably act that way because of
fear. Many people do not do the research when they get their specfic breed and
then they blame to breed. It is so easy to keep a chi inside. The require so
little and are not know to tear up your house and do quite well. Of course like
any living creature no body wants to be alone for 15 or more hours a day and if
you do not have the time to spend with them, then don't get one. They are
perfect for the empty nester and travel great and are so easy to take care of.
Also, stay at home moms as my chi's love the day care kids of course you do
have to be careful and make sure that the kids do not have free access to the
dogs. But as long as you watch them careful they can enjoy the little ones.
