Welcome to the group!!! I just know you will love it here and learn a lot from
all these wonderful people. I LOVE LC Chi's...they are my favorite little
dog!!!
I don't have one but I have two SCs...MOuse and Myrtle. My daughter had a LC
named Wyatt...and he did go through the uglies with losing his coat. When it
came back in it was beautiful!!

There is a great website... www.dogtorj.com that has so much info on feeding
and
spay/nueter issues. Much of what I believe about small breeds...well any breed
for that matter comes from Dr Symes. He has a LOT of common sense advice about
nutrition, spay/nueter, meds and treatments etc. I LOVE this Vet!!! Not only
does he provide this awesome website but he will walk you through any
situation.
If I had something critical going on ...HE is who would see my dogs!!! He is a
tremendous person and has a heart and the knowledge to be an amazing
resource...have fun on his site...you will learn a LOT of stuff that many vets
don't have any knowledge or experience with!

We need pictures!!!!! We Love pictures!!! WELCOME!!!

Subject: RE: [Chihuahuas] New LH Chihuahua Owner - Had several other breeds but
not a toy breed

Hi, Welcome to the group.  I am not sure what your question is exactly, but yes
many (I would say most) LH chis lose their baby coat ( called the uglies).
That
is completely normal and the coat should grow back in just fine, but may not be
complete till around a year or so.  Siblings can have slight differences in
their coat.  Some LH have an undercoat which will make them look much thicker,
some have thin coats some have thick coats...it just varies.  As long as their
fur is growing back and they don't continue to have bald spots I am sure they
are fine.  Puppies also learn at different rates, much like children.
Hopefully
the boy will help his sister learn.  Sounds like everything is going great and
your babies have a lovely home.  There are many wonderful and experienced
owners
on this group and they are a wealth of information so you have happened upon
the
right group.
