I have also used frontline with no problems, but for the last few years I have used capstar. About two summers ago I gave 1 dose and about 2 weeks later another and havent seen a flea since. Capstar only works for 24 hrs, but will kill every flea that touches your dog for that 24. It starts working in about 30 min. If you don't have a big problem you may be able to only use a capstar every few months or if like me every year or so instead of every month. I would also highly recommend it to kickstart the end of a flea infestation.
