What a wonderful story! I love the smile on his face in the last picture, you can tell he is very, very, happy! I hate that Miami Dade kill shelter, it's a horrible shelter. A little history about Zeus.. We found him (online) at the Miami Dade Animal Services (kill shelter) website. When we went there to adopt him he wasn't there. We were also told that he had been surrendered by his owner. They called him "Little Bit" and said that no one had adopted him and his time had run out. On the "last day" (before he was scheduled to be euthanized) a rescue group came in and saved him.
Here is the post on the internet. LITTLE BIT MIAMI-DADE ANIMAL SERVICES Miami, FL We contacted that group which was far north of us out of Miami, and they said he was there. We immediately drove up to get him. After the 1-1/2 hr drive we arrived. It was a small place and chock full of animals. Dogs of all sizes and many cats. It was hot in there, and lots of barking going on. There was a lot of make-shift type cubicles with multiple dogs in each one. I spotted a crib with several dogs. Little Bit was huddled in the far corner looking scared. I took this pic of him. I looked straight at him and he looked back at me. I started talking to him and his ears perked up. I immediately knew he was coming home with us. After some paperwork we were on the road. Here are some pics of him on the ride home. Zeus is a very happy dog now!
