I agree! When my little guys go out I am always there keeping tabs on them,
especially at night. We have owls here!

Vultures are eaters of the dead lol..but sometimes for me when I look up
quickly it is hard to distinguish between a vulture and a hawk. Better safe
than sorry although we have a lot of both in this area.

Sue - I believe you are correct - we had a turkey vulture at our vet's office
to be stabilized until it went to the wildlife rescue - I remember the doctor
stating it's rare for them to eat live pray - and that they are non
confrontational. (however, I'm sure everyone feels the same way - if there is
a 1% chance they might swoop down - then that's 1% is too high) Right?

Do the Turkey Vultures hunt live prey? I thought they only fed off of dead
animals? We have a lot of them here in FL as well as Osprey and eagles. I
don't let our little ones out without going out with them even though we have a
fenced yard.

Around here there are turkey vultures that will pick up a small dog in a
