I do have to take them out of the carrier for the security check. BUT THEY DO NOT CARE. It's the airlines that you pay to fly your dog. They go as my carry on. When I check in, I already have my ticket printed at home and check in from home. I take my bag to the counter ...give them my bag. They never ask about my carry on or dogs.
