So glad you are considering the rescue of older Chihuahaus, often they get overlooked. If your house is kept on the cold side, then a light weight t-shirt can be put on your dogs, you can also look for a warm pad to put on their bed, there are some that use electricity and some that use a heated pack (perhaps stuffed with rice and warmed in a microwave) inserted into the pad. Google and see what available in your area.

We've never had any small dogs before, let alone small dogs with a single coat. Can anyone provide us with some guidance as to their "climate" requirements? I understand that they need protection outdoors, but what about indoors? will they do OK in a relatively cool house, or does it need to be kept warm? how warm? We live in northern New England. thanks! Jan
