thanks for the additional input, guys - we'll be careful! The posts about peeing in appropriate places got me to thinking about how we'd deal with that, too. With seniors we reeeally don't want to have to banish them from the furniture, not even for a little while if we can possibly help it. Our sofa is modular style (a big L), and I suspect they'll like that best with all it's cuddle spots. I got the idea to buy the same type of mattress protectors that we have on our beds. It's made of a soft & flexible material and doesn't look like it would stop liquids in a million years - but it does! If I cut one in half, the two pieces will be long enough & wide enough to cover all the seat cushions. Yay!
