Interesting info. Note however the PEI stats are titled "Summary of Fires at Refueling Sites That Appear To Be Static Related", so the fact that "no cell phones were involved" here is probably meaningless.
The fact that there is a classification of handheld radios that are designated "intrinsically safe" seems a lot more meaningful to this issue. Whatever criteria are used for this classification is directly relevant to what poses a safety hazard when refuelling.
