In your searches, drop the 'F1'. It means the tab or case is isolated.
If it's 3 terminal, it _must_ be linear. By reference to electrolytics, you can figure which is input, ground, and output.
What's the voltage? Let's say 8.5 Volts is required: Connect a 5V regulator, with a resistor in the ground leg (~270 ohms per volt IIRC). For the above example, You would start by experimenting with 910 ohms in series with the ground pin.
