Hello,

maybe this is a bit off-topic but who knows :-)

This is a question for all those interested in history of tubes and
technology.

I have a strange tube here of totally unknown use:

Its length is approx 10 cm, looks like a letter "H" with one electrode at
the bottom of each leg and quite some mercury.

Its NOT a switch, there is not enough mercury in it to cover both
electrodes at once in any possible position.

so it must be something else...

Whats written on it:

There is a small stamp on it saying "Senditron" ; ...wter ( disturbed,
illegible beginning of a word ending with "wter" ) and a datecode 4 /65
plus a single letter "D"

nothing else.

Anybody having an idea what this is, what it might be good for and
who might have made it ?

Its a nice piece in my tubecollection and I always like to know what I
collect :-)

Thank you

Jan
