Comment #3 on issue 26243 by [email protected]: User reports exponentially exploding duplicate entries http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=26243
I think what's preventing you from removing these duplicates is that the server has throttled your account for committing too many changes (the underlying bug which created the duplicates, is probably what exhausted your quota). Each of your computers probably has a large number of pending deletions waiting to be sent to the server, but the server will only accept 100 changes per day. At that rate, it would probably take many days for your clients to converge. I just reset the quota on your account to remove that limit. My instructions were focused on getting your computers out of some state where they keep committing duplicate bookmarks (in other words, to relieve the backpressure). Deleting bookmarks while sync is disabled will not cause them to be removed from your account when you re-enable sync -- when you come back online, the deletions won't transfer. Let me know if things improve after a little bit -- and if they don't, could you let me know whether the "about:sync" page shows a high number of unsynced items? -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
