Actually, I thought you *can* do that in Chrome as well. In the Chrome Bookmark Manager there is a search box in the top-right corner which filters bookmarks as you type (like FF) and also Chrome's Omnibox/address bar filters/suggests from bookmarks (like FF). Stephen, am I misunderstanding something from your post?
However, I do agree with Ted that making the Bookmarks window a "dockable" window or sidebar is definitely needed. If an existing bug report for that does not already exist, it should be submitted at: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/entry Stephen, when you say "toolbar support" do you mean user-created custom extension toolbars? That will probably come with: http://dev.chromium.org/developers/design-documents/extensions On Jan 23, 11:30 am, Stephen Allen <[email protected]> wrote: > Also in Firefox one can search bookmarks and filtering as one types in > characters. > Please add this to Chrome; This and the lack of tool bar support is what > keeps me > from using Chrome full time. > > Thanks. > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]] > > On Behalf Of ted.dushane.pers > Sent: Friday, January 23, 2009 1:43 PM > To: Chromium-discuss > Subject: [chromium-discuss] re:inadequate bookmark display > > In either FireFox or IE, you can display bookmarks in a column to the > left of the browser pane.
