You can run multiple versions of Chrome, all you need to do is:
   1) Install them into separate directories.
   2) Grab the latest trunk build (UnStable!
http://build.chromium.org/buildbot/snapshots/chromium-rel-xp/ )
   3) Use a VM or separate computer.

Talk to Microsoft, they are the ones who maintain it, I actually like the
system, but then the Linux/Mac systems don't bother me either.

Merging
that amount of data is no easy task but I'm positive that Google (or
some 3rd party) has their eye on such a task.
