I actually am all for the idea.  It would be great to move away from MS
software.  But also how great of an impact would this have?  Maybe 1/2 to
1/4 of Chrome's ~3.5% market share would adopt this? It is a step, but is it
really worth it?

Then from a developmental stand point would you be thinking that it would be
a separate app or part of chrom[e](ium)?  I would be the most interested in
a whole "googOS", with it being a branch of linux/unix.  That I'm sure
plenty of people would adopt and life for/under.

Unfortunately, Microsoft will never give up explorer.exe
to the public (legally at least).
