Ah, I guess Im just used to ubuntu. I mostly just want this as a data server so its ability to not crash is my number one priority, Ill definitely read about upgrading though if you think itd be wise to.
I have a simple question while Ive got your attention. I decided just to make the single login 'home' account as the account that other people can log into. So I set up a network drive on a windows machine which logs into my 'home' account. I can create files and directories, however I can't seem to read them while logged into the 'home' account on OpenSolaris. Whats weird is that when I set up the network drive on other Windows machines that also log into 'home', they can edit and create files. So why can't the OpenSolaris account logged in as 'home' edit files? I have already performed chmod 777 /storage/backup and also the other chmod recommendation you gave me -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ cifs-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/cifs-discuss
