I had so much trouble installing Cinelerra under Edgy Ubuntu that I
had to install a second hard drive in my computer and install SUSE
10.2 on it, because Cinelerra is simple to install with the openSUSE
repositories. All the repositories you need are right there on the
openSUSE site. I do like Edgy Ubuntu a lot, and I still use it for
lots of different aspects of producing the Digital Tipping Point
film. But this one aspect of Edgy was troublesome.
I actually also downgraded from Feisty to Edgy, due to problems that I
was having running some video packages on Feisty. I don't remember
which ones, sorry. So maybe downgrading from Feisty to Edgy will
solve a few of your problems as well.

Hi all,
Thanks much, it worked it seems to be installed, But won't open.
Shows up under sound and video but does not start when clicked on? I
reinstalled but still will not start.
