That's exactly what I have in my mind.
File formats are moving targets. Even if you found the right settings,
the next day Youtube might "upgrade" their software or a new firmware for
some device is released. And we don't want to release a new lumiera just
to fix profiles do we? IMO this mess should be kept out of the core package.
Contributed downloadable profiles are a good compromise:
People can even make thinks like "low bitrate H.264 optimized
for cartoons playable on AppleQuicktime and linux players"
completely decoupled from lumiera development and release cycles.
