That sounds interesting. I certainly didn't know about that. Where is
the list hosted and where can I subscribe?
It's invite only, and not archived online.
The list is very very much for technical discussions of core
developers only, therefore the number of subscriptions is limited,
most of the participants are very busy developers, and I think it
would be disrespectful to their time to involve them into arbitrary
discussions.
For public discussions there are the individual mailinglists for
cinelerra, kdenlive, openmovieeditor, pitivi, etc. If something
terribly important happens, I'm sure it will be forwarded to those
lists, as they are also read be the involved people.
This is a very good start!
But the linuxaudio developers mailinglist is open to join and has an
public archive on the internet and it goes pretty well.
I think if you start also a linux video user mailinglist, so you can
keep user and devs separated, so no timewasting discussions for the devs....
It's also a good thing to have apps with specific mailinglist, but I
think it would be much easier for users if there is also a mailinglist
to discuss 'general' stuff... It's been said several times in this
discussing, one task one application. That means you need at least two
or three or more applications to do a full job. I asked on the CinCV
also questions about devede, avidemux and qdvdauthor. This also makes a
linux video user mailinglist very reasonable imho. I would improve linux
video a lot and such a mailinglists is pretty easy to start and moderate
imho.
