Could be an IOS thing. I've installed a few 3600 & remember taking the
"Enterprise fixes all" approach to loading IOS, only to watch my Interfaces
disappear on the first reload. I had a lot of time to talk with the TAC
about it, as I Kermit-ed some Limited Release IOS (via the console cable :o)
I would say short of trying a reload & applying No IP Address (which I think
you've done), I'd just type a real obvious Description (something like:
Interface Not In Service or Future Use).
