What a terrific post, Carol. I have to say that we have four "scruffy"
(untrimmed) AKC champions and are VERY proud of it. We ignore the
judges' comments that we are "having a bad hair day" and blythely go on
showing at a pace which is proper for Cavaliers. Will my dogs be top in
AKC at some point? Probably NOT...don't look for us in the near future
in formal standings...LOL...but I WILL know as you've so properly
pointed out which of them is future breeding stock; for sure the judges
aren't choosing them because of their owner handler or their untrimmed
coats.

It is exactly WHY I show this way. For me, it is enough to know that
I've paid for the opinion of someone who knows good dogs and picks
mine. Then I feel comfortable that my love for one or another hasn't
made me kennel blind.

THANK YOU.
