Jeanne,
I can't agree with you more, if I had said this myself. I remember when you
and Dianne judged here in the US along with many UK judges. However, you
are right, at that time Cavaliers were not recognized in the AKC. Now
Cavalier's are recognized by an organization (AKC) whose governing body and
shows are recognized world wide. I do remember the controversy over UK
judges coming over
and judging CKCSCUSA shows and it was my understanding that it was not
sanctioned by the KC and the AKC was in direct opposition to this practice.
I was not aware that the AKC was in any reciprocal agreement with the
CKCSCUSA or the KC. What I mean, is that I have not heard about this
agreement. Was this a verbal agreement or written? It seems to me that
when our regional clubs become more active, and begin their regional
specialties, that we might beable to have judges from others countries come
to the states. If Carol Williams is out there, maybe she can add something
to this, since she is our Regional Club Coordinator. Hopefully, then
members of the CKCSC,USA along with ACKCSC members will all come out and show
which may also take of the numbers of dogs' issue that keeps coming up on the
list.
I think every judge needs to individually look at his/her ethical obligation
in this matter.
