Hi, Peggy,
Thanks for the updates from your neck of the woods. Up here Boston is
still in many ways locked down. Logan airport is considered a crime
scene and they have found evidence linking five suspects to the
hijackings. Everyone at the FBI is proceeding with caution as to
releasing much detail. Logan airport will not reopen until ALL of the
parking garage is emptied; they are towing all cars to Suffolk Downs to
comply with the newly released FAA precautions. There are at least 2500
cars to tow, and other procedures to put in place. If these precautions
remain in effect that entire new central garage will no longer be able
to be used. State police will man all security checkpoints in Boston at
the airport. We are not sure if the courts have opened yet, but the
Prudential Center is open again. The FBI believes that a terrorist cell
has been working from Boston area, so things will proceed slowly.
For those of you overseas, our President spoke this morning and though
it seems as though there will be retaliation, it also seems that
patience will be used in making decisions so as not to be inaccurate.
Many of us still wait to hear from friends...........one of my son's
friends was headed to Burbank yesterday morning and he has not yet been
located by his friends; we are hoping he is all right and was not on one
of the planes....I still wait to hear from my friends in NY...and in
Hoboken NJ from which the underground subway called the PATH travels to
a destination under what was the WTC........
