Janet, we each function in a different way. Speaking only for myself, I am
very good at compartmentalizing. I can put aside the grief and sadness of
life and go into another compartment for a while and focus on something that
brings me joy. Had I not been able to do this, I doubt I could have
survived raising nine kids or being an RN for decades. We each recognize
that the dogs and dog showing is relatively low in priority as compared to
families and national tragedy. However, there is nothing wrong or unfeeling
about putting aside those things that sadden us and worry us in order to
spend a few moments of our day sharing our experiences with the hobby that
we all enjoy. It is a form of survival. Myra Savant
