Because the truth of the matter is not all Cavalier breeders are nice people.
I have seen rival kennels do this to each other more then once though in
fairness we do not know if the ladys dog had taken ill or some other
situation arose that caused her to pull the dog.
I have seen handlers run up on dogs and try to spook them, squeeze them out
or step in front of them in a line up, drop bait in their dogs general
direction, approach judges and say less then flattering things about others
dogs and many other sad deplorable things. Its good to recognize these types
exist but its better to realize that the majority of Cavalier people you will
meet at the shows are very nice, helpful people who exhibit good
sportsmanship. Many I have seen, even those that usually keep to themselves,
often try to help the younger handlers who are trying to learn the sport.
My own daughter is just starting to test her skills at Jr handling. The main
goal for us is for her and the dog to have fun. If she happens to win
anything thats a bonus. I have made this clear to her. I have also told
her to listen carefully to those who will give her advice and ignore anyone
who is not nice as ignorant people don't deserve recognition.
Tell your daughter to keep having fun and I am sure more people will
congratulate her and help then will leave bad impressions with her.
